The Cursed Crusade probably isn't on very many "Highly-Anticipated Games" lists, but that shouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a chance. In a rather smart move, Atlus has decided to release a pre-launch demo of Kylotonn Games' upcoming supernatural action RPG.
The publisher hasn't specified an exact date for the demo, but it will come prior to the game's release on October 25 and cover the "Assault on Castle Biron" mission. Templar Denz de Bayle and his comrade Esteban Noviembre must break down a castle's defenses to confront Martin d'Algais, a former friend of the de Bayle family.
A new trailer was also released today, delving into a different aspect of the game's story. So we know Denz (and possibly Esteban) is cursed with some kind of demonic power -- which makes him look pretty damn cool, actually -- but the video also addresses the moral ambiguity of the Holy Crusades. Denz had sought to join the Crusades thinking they were something else entirely, only to realize the truth much later. All the while, he seeks to rid himself of a curse that plagues him, though fortunately for players, this curse adds a bit of spice to the gameplay.
As always, Cursed Crusade will be available at launch at a discounted price of $40. In the mean time, keep an eye out on Xbox LIVE, PSN, and Steam for the demo.
