MMOs are an incredibly social genre of video games, as the name "massively multiplayer online" suggests. Still, MMO developers are constantly looking at ways of balancing their games to attract different types of gamers, which includes the less social folks too.
ArenaNet added Heroes in Guild Wars, and now Trion is implementing solo-friendly dungeons in RIFT. These new dungeons, called "Chronicles," are narrative-driven endgame instances suited for one to two well-geared level 50 players. They'll be arriving with RIFT 1.5, the Ashes of History update.
Players will be able to choose from three Chronicles following the next patch:
- Chronicle of Attunement – Commemorate turning level 50 with a celebration in your honor, and harness the power of the planes with Planar Attunement.
- Greenscale’s Blight: The Fallen Prince – Join legends from your faction to take down Greenscale, Dragon of Life!
- Hammerknell: Runes of Corruption – Discover the fate of missing scouts, and of the Dwarven delve itself.
