Hardcore, yes.

But It is much better for console then it is on PC. At least in my opinion.
I can certainly understand preferring to play on console, but how is it objectively better in this case?

Crafter you want one shoot kill play Battlefield bad company 2 on hardcore. Also for all that play on steam I agree it is unfortunate. But It is much better for console then it is on PC. At least in my opinion, and chautemoc is right about balance. Cant say until you try it.

Crafter I think it may require an account only, not the actual client. Not sure yet, though. Just can't agree with you on balance, sorry.

Crafter It's everywhere but Steam. Reserve judgment on browser until beta. Sniping: it's a game, not real life. The idea is to reward the patience and accuracy required for headshots. If you want to one shot, go shotgun.
I guess I worded that first bit wrong. It requires Origin no matter where you buy it from. I also realize that it's a game, and far from a military simulator at that, but the "idea" is flawed in that you can line up most assault rifles and kill someone faster from the same distance than a sniper rifle can. If they're going to add bullet drop and travel time "for the realism", it's a bit silly to require a headshot to kill. It's about balance, something that was already off in BC2 is getting worse.

You ain't on Steam, you ain't getting my money.

Not that I would preorder it anyways. I find the whole concept of prreordering pretty stupid.

But if it isn't on Steam, I'm not getting it at all.

I would join those 1.25 million, if it were on Steam.
I know quite a few people with the same opinion, myself included.

BF can't currently beat CoD sales. CoD rakes in silly amounts of sales because of the massive hype and already existing playerbase it has. It's like the old nintendo jokes, ex: "If nintendo made a $100 toaster and planted their name on it, people would still buy it". It's not that the games are good, bad, or anything else, the series has simply become that mainstream. BF could certainly beat it, but it needs to really push the envelope, so far that the envelope breaks into tiny pieces of paper, and then they need to keep pushing. That takes time, and one game's good pre-release won't suffice. Depending on BF3's success the next game down the line could have a chance, or maybe the game after. It's something not yet predictable as we still have such a vague look on even BF3's position in the world. But not being on Steam, that was a huge, huge mistake, and it's going to cost them in sales, which in turn will cost them progress towards matching CoD sales.

Video games are about as close to real life as real life is to being a video game.
Pretty close in Arma.

yes that's true of course. but it bothers me that people think a sniper rifle is a point and click machine, its Way more complicated than that, there are so many variables and factors that go in to using that kind of weapon , wind anyone ? distance , gravity. Holding your breath dose not fix everything.COD/BF sniping = Fail

Who thinks this simulates war? Give me a break. This isn't what war is. You want to know what war is about? Turn on the history channel or read a book, it's a hell of a lot more realistic than either of these games.
