We already know Warhammer 40K: Space Marine will feature co-op and multiplayer, but today Relic has revealed their take on a horde mode, dubbed "Exterminatus." Team up with three of your buddies (or strangers from the Internets) and face off against swarms of alien enemies as your Space Marine class of choice.
Exterminatus Mode shares the same three classes seen in multiplayer: Tactical Marine, Assault Marine, and Devastator. This means you'll have all the perks and weapons unique to your class of choice at your disposal. Fun times for all, whether you're a fan of Jump Packs or Heavy Bolters -- there's something for everyone.
Space Marine's standalone co-op mode comes with two scenarios, 'Assault on Hab Center Andreas' and 'Escape from Kalkys Facility'. Both feature leaderboard functionality, so you can compare your performance with the rest of the Space Marine community.
Exterminatus won't actually be available on September 6 with the game, though. Instead, Relic and THQ will be releasing the extra mode as free downloadable content in early October.
