Halo 4 videos showcase stunning concept art and creative audio work
Artwork is more classic Halo, music is not
This last weekend saw plenty of Halo action with Halo Fest at PAX Prime. Today, the folks behind Halo Waypoint have released a couple of new Halo 4 videos that offer a glimpse of 343i's work-in-progress.
The first is a montage of concept art compiled to make a trailer, similar to the style ArenaNet uses in their Guild Wars 2 trailers. The artwork is certainly reminiscent of classic Halo, but the music is an entirely different story. Any Halo fan can hear the absence of Martin O'Donnell, but we're remaining optimistic. You can almost sense a little Mass Effect or Red Faction in the background music.
The second video deals more with the audio work behind Halo 4, including how the team produces many of the sounds we've grown so used to that we rarely even notice them anymore while gaming.
Master Chief makes his triumphant return in Halo 4 next year. For the time being, you can look forward to Halo: CE Anniversary on November 15. Looks like we're all going to be very busy this fall.
