    It's become a terrible trend for game developers to plan on releasing DLC long before the game is even released. Finish the game first, COMPLETELY, and then worry about expanding the game experience. Of course, it's more of a cash grab than anything but luckily Bethesda at least puts some effort into their DLC (well...except for Oblivion's horse armour).

    eh timed exclusives are just cool on face value. I really don't see the marketing value in it. Anyone care to help me out?

    It could be the deciding factor between two versions of the game that are otherwise the same. By that I mean the 360 and PS3 versions. PC gamers will probably gain the most in the end, given the nature of the modding community towards the Elder Scrolls series.

    Plus, I suppose Microsoft sees it as a way to show dedication.

    it's a reputation thing: we make sure we have all the cool goods first so buy our console.

    microsoft invests alot in that. it helps people to decide what they should buy.

    Really not liking this. Especially if Skyrim ends up a GFWL game. They shouldn't hold timed exclusives over our heads, since the PC game would be a windows game anyway >_>

    metalhead4105 I agree, to an extent. I feel like the game should be a complete package before DLC comes into the picture. DLC as a concept it still evolving, however, so how it should be implemented/enjoyed is still kind of being figured out. I would much prefer large story-oriented DLC packs be planned out to work alongside the main game in the future, rather than having no idea where the game should be taken post-launch.

    I don't think there's any worry that Skyrim will feel lacking when it releases, however.

    The problem with a game like this, is that 30 days isn't much saying the amount of content they'd advertised

    Xbox Live is awesome. Microsoft really does a lot toward offering value to their subscribers.
