if the console users will be pitted against computer users i think now might be a good time to adapt. no sense saying otherwise guys, buy yourselves a decent USB keyboard and a USB gamemouse, controllers are good but they don't stand a chance against the keyboard and mouse when it comes to accuracy and speed.

It'll depend on the amount of aim-assist on the console version. Console gamers could even have the advantage if there's enough of it.

In Halo 2 PC, you can actually plug in a 360 controller and it will enable aim-assist for you, which makes it just like playing it on the Xbox. It's hard to say because the community for H2PC is rather small, but in my case, I have definitely performed better than anyone else I've played during my time on there, and that's with using the controller.

If there's a similar situation here, then console gamers have nothing to worry about.

Fury I don't think Valve puts aim assist in their games.

hahaha don't rule out the possibility of a experienced PC player switching over to the Ps3 for fun.

Reenee I'm pretty sure most console games have to have assisted aiming, it's too hard to aim without if your using a console controller.

@ aim assist Aug 27, 11
I'm a PC and PS3 gamer. A LOT of console games include aim assist, and some don't even give you the option to turn it off if you want to. But there are also games that do NOT use it.

I personally hate aim assist when using a controller because I want the controls to react to what I'm doing, not what it thinks I should be doing. Especially when for example the aim assist creeps towards the center mass and I'm always focusing on the upper body.

I just want to say that valve has already confirmed that there will be no aim assistance on the console versions. <<<< NONE ZERO

CS is built off highly competitive play, I agree with Reenee, there will be no aimassist. If you want to have that precision, you'll have to go get a keyboard/mouse for your PS3, or ready your PC.

Aim-assist has become the standard in console FPS, and not having it would be a bad decision by Valve. The decision to have it has little to do with competitive play, as pros are going to make or miss shots regardless. This is about any gamer being able to adapt to a new multiplayer environment and have fun with it, not about proving your skill.

Renee Yeah, I know they didn't for any of the HL2 series. It's fine for campaign where the AI really have little interest in trying to make you miss your shots. Not so much for multiplayer.

The CS series is all about skill thus far, if GO is a true successor, it won't hold your hand either. Being able to actually aim is a skill. People will hit and miss shots of course, but the nature of aim-assist makes you statistically more likely to hit, which should definitely not be in a game that's made it's name in fine-tuned balance and high-end competitive play.

They will make console players mad by not holding somebody's hand, yes. But the alternative is making PC players mad. The same players that they're apparently very happy about, judging by the video.

I'm not implying that CS isn't largely about skill, but instead that implementing aim-assist does not take away from the game at all. It needs to be there for console multiplayer games. It's just not as fun otherwise, and really that should be the main concern for anyone.

Also, I'm not suggesting they add it in for the PC version. I don't think PC gamers should really have much concern over the console version having it either. If it's not ridiculous like it is in CoD, then it's nothing more than an equalizer. For example, Halo just has a slight amount. Enough that anyone can get used to it and enjoy the game, but not enough that perfect aim is ever possible, even for MLG players. That's how it should be.
