Coming out of Sony's gamescom press conference came details of new games and applications for PlayStation Vita. Potential Vita owners will be pleased to know they can download free dedicated applications for Twitter, Facebook, foursquare, and Skype from the PlayStation Store. Sony did not announce when these applications would be available.
For FPS fans out there, the portable version of Resistance is now titled Resistance: Burning Skies and serves as a prequel to Resistance 2. Burning Skies features a new hero joining the fight against the Chimera and a storyline penned by William C. Dietz, author of the two Resistance novels that were previously released.
EA Sports and Ubisoft revealed some of their projects in the works for Vita. Ubisoft is bringing Assassin's Creed, Rayman Origins, Asphalt, Dungeon Hunter Alliance, Lumines, and Michael Jackson The Experience along with some new IP that's being kept under wraps for now. As for EA, they'll have FIFA on the way for Vita users.
