Some serious rumors have been flying around for months now about a communications rose aka commo rose for Battlefield 3, fueled mostly by PC fans of olden times.
If you're not familiar with it, the rose served as a mostly effective way to communicate basic things to your team like 'need ammo', 'thanks!', and so on; by simplying holding Q, a variety of these clickable audio cues would show up as text.
At Gamescom and on Twitter, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson confirmed it will in fact be in the game. Interestingly, he only mentions the PC version, so it sounds like console players will be out of luck, which is a bit odd given analog sticks seem a natural fit for it.
Unfortunately it's not implemented in the Gamescom build, so we won't have anything to show off for you, but good things come to those who wait, like next month's beta, where we wouldn't be surprised to see it.
