Is Valve developing this, or a third party like what was done with Condition Zero?

Valve is developing this along with Hidden Path Entertainment, the same devs who worked on CS Source and Defense Grid.

Salvation at last; I've been so bored since quitting css. Kind of disappointed but overjoyed at the same time.
You mention matchmaking but do you happen to know if they'll be keeping the server browser too? It's a source game so I'm guessing yes but just want to be sure.

These are the only details known for now. I'm sure there will be a server browser like in other Valve games.

I wonder if they'll do the same thing they did for Portal 2, crossplay for PS3 and Steam.

I can't imagine cross-platforming would work out too well in a game like CounterStrike... not if CS:GO is going to be at all like its predecessors. A certain degree of precision is required that just isn't possible with a controller; I'm not being elitist, that's just how it is!
However, I'll be buying the Steam version as soon as it's available, even if I'm not quite ready to fully migrate from Source just yet.

Touche. What was the last game to try that again? Shadowrun or something?

Dude. Do not buy the console version of this. Its and mouse and keyboard game. It will be a *bleep*ing fraction of the fun on console.

Playing this on a console would almost be a sin.
