Call of Duty games rarely ever stick to the "core" platforms, so why should Modern Warfare 3 be any different? Activision announced today that Modern Warfare 3 would, in fact, be gracing Nintendo Wii and DS -- not 3DS, mind you -- in November.
Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward won't be working on these versions. Instead, Call of Duty veteran studio Treyarch will be developing Modern Warfare 3 for Wii, while n-Space is working on the DS version.
Needless to say, the Wii and DS editions won't be exactly like the others. Activision's Dan Amrich, known to many as "One of Swords," mentions on his blog that "a lot of MW3 will fit into the Wii, but there may be differences."
Currently, Activision is aiming to release these two versions alongside the rest on November 8, but that could change.
