Irem games being pulled from PlayStation Store on August 11

For undisclosed reasons, Irem will be taking down its entire catalog of PSone Classics and PSP games from the PlayStation Store. PS3 and PSP users will no longer be able to purchase Irem's games after August 11.

If you're not familiar with Irem, they're best known for their R-Type series of shoot 'em ups. All of these games are pretty much out of print by now so this may be your last chance to easily purchase them in the form of a download title.

Here's the list of games that will be removed:

• Gussun Paradise
  
• Irem Arcade Classics
  

PSP Games

• R-Type Tactics (known as R-Type Command in North America)
  
• Bumpy Trott Beagle Battle Tournament
  
• Ikuze! Gensan Yuyake Daikou Monogatari
  
• Mousukesu based on Carton-kun
  
• Narisokonai Eiyuutan: Story of the Sun and Moon
  
• R-Type Tactics II Operation Bitter Chocolate
  
• Sengoku Esatsu Yugi Hototogisu Ran
  
• Sengoku Esatsu Yugi Hototogisu Dairan
  

In addition to the game removal, all demos, DLC, themes, videos, and PlayStation Home lounges related to these titles will also be taken down.
