Minimum requirements are useless, PC users who want to play this game on PC aren't looking for the minimum requirements, we're looking for recommended, so we know whether or not our current machines can handle it. That way we have ample time to upgrade if we see it necessary.

Although, I'm confident my dual GTX 570's will handle it just fine, I'd still like to see what they recommend for maxed out gameplay.

Im certain that my build around Crysis 2 at full specs will be sufficient. I just want it out already

I JUST meet the recommended except I have a gig video memory, still not sure whether or not to buy this on console as it'll run a lot smoother, but I lose out on the PC goodness :/

ominous It will run a lot smoother on PC, if your rig is built well enough. BF3's console framerate is capped at 30, where on PC it's unlimited. Framerate, if you don't know, makes a massive difference in smoothness and responsiveness. Between that and 64 players plus superior graphics and controls, you'd be mad to buy it on console with a perfectly good PC handy.

My laptop exceeds most of these requirements. I am baffled and excited that I might be able to run this at a decent rate.

Oh wow, those seem like minimum LOL. I expected a bit more for recommended, but I guess I am setting my expectations a bit high for this game

It's the 512mb card that makes me think minimum rather than recommended.

Ohmycaptain Yeah, I agree. But again, they're still in alpha, and I'm sure with all the fancy graphics options that are sure to be included, maxing them will require a moderately better GPU (at least 1GB). I know they're testing even with dual 6990s as well as mid-range stuff like the 260, so... Talk about scaling, hey?

I'd have to get Windows 7 Pro installed, and drop in a few more gig of ram before I'd be good to go. But my Computer wouldn't have much trouble with this Bad boy. XD At least I think. Tell me. Is a Radeon HD 5550 Graphics card with a GIG RAM, Intel i7 Quad core running 2.93 Ghz with hyperthreading good enough? I've got only 2 gig of ram and and I only have XP pro on my system right now....

Inel i7 is way much more power than you'll need to run the game the only thing i see lacking is RAM 4 is good 6 is decent 8 is screaming through the front lines where a sneeze will cause puncture wounds, sucking chest wounds and arterial spray

I pre-ordered at gamestop because I don't want to DL origin just for BF3. I'd like it on steam but <.<

devildogdave, I'm assuming your mobo supports DDR3 RAM, so I'd recommend throwing in some 8GB before october, and getting a new card. Your card may be able to handle it at minimum (depending on resolution, of course), but I'd doubt it'd do very well on even medium at 1080p.

I'd wait until september to upgrade, though. Rumor has it the AMD 7000 series with new 28nm chips will be out in Q4 2011, so maybe they'll be out before BF3 comes. 8GB of RAM is pretty cheap, too.
