StarCraft Universe trailer highlights massive Zerg boss battles

Work on StarCraft Universe has been coming along well after its brief legal tie-up with Blizzard some months ago.  Some alpha footage of the ambitious StarCraft II mod was recently revealed, giving a glimpse of gameplay that blends World of Warcraft-style raids with some of Diablo's action RPG elements.

As Protoss or Terran, you'll participate in some of StarCraft's most notable battles.  Bosses are certainly one of the major highlights of Universe, especially the one where teams are pit against an enormous Zerg Leviathan on a space platform.  Outside of boss fights, you'll do your fair share of taking down Zerglings and escort missions.

Interestingly, when a video commenter joked about potentially downloading a massive custom map, Universe creator Ryan Winzen responded that one of the maps currently clocks in at a tiny 7MB.  Not bad for a mod of this scale but do expect it to get bigger in the future.
