By now, some lucky gamers in Japan have managed to try out the first public demo of Final Fantasy Type-0. To help players get in as much time as possible with the trial, Square Enix released a few gameplay videos explaining some of Type-0's features.
First, a general gameplay video shows the party knocking out some guards before huddling up against a mech that's doing some shockwave attacks.
While fighting, your character can time their strike to pull off a "Kill Site" or "Break Site" attack that deals extra damage. You're able to do either attack when the targeting cursor on the enemy changes color.
Players can take on Special Orders to execute certain actions in their fight such as killing two enemies with magic. If you accept a Special Order, you must complete it within a time limit or face some bad consequences.
Like previous Final Fantasy games, transportation in Type-0 takes place on foot, with a Chocobo, and flying in an airship.
Final Fantasy Type-0 releases later this year in Japan. Square Enix is currently considering bringing Type-0 overseas, possibly as a download from PSN.
