Ever get the feeling games are getting shorter and shorter? Well, that's not going to be an issue with Dead Island. When asked how long the game's campaign would stretch, Deep Silver's Vincent Kummer gave a rough estimate of 30 hours.
"The game itself, if you played 'normally,' is going to be like 25 to 30 hours," he explained. "It's tough to give a time, because it really depends on how you play."
Once you beat the game, you can always go back in as one of the other four playable characters or start over in the tougher New Game+ mode. With the exception of New Game+ and the upcoming Bloodbath Arena DLC, however, Techland and Deep Silver have no plans for additional game modes "at the moment."
The Bloodbath Arena DLC is basically the Dead Island version of Horde mode, pitting players agaisnt waves of zombies across four different arenas, offering a more action-driven alternative to the campaign. The add-on will be bundled with the game as an exclusive pre-order bonus but will also be released later as paid content.
