Call of Duty XP 2011 event features Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer reveal
Takes place September 2 and 3 in Los Angeles
Activision will be converting a 12-acre compound in the Los Angeles area to host their Call of Duty XP 2011 event for fans of the popular first-person shooter. The main highlights of XP is a public hands-on demo of Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer and Spec Ops' Survival Mode plus a live Black Ops Xbox 360 tournament.
For those who wish to compete in the tournament, you'll be pit against other groups of players in a 32-team, single elimination bracket competition. Each team is comprised of four members and there will be various qualification opportunities available worldwide including some last-minute qualifiers at the XP event itself. One million dollars worth of cash and prizes are going to be awarded to the best players.
Part of the XP compound is dedicated to recreations of Modern Warfare 2's Pit training grounds and Scrapyard multiplayer level. Feel free to blow off some steam in Scrapyard by shooting up your friends and rivals with paintball guns. Those who run through the Pit have a chance to earn some prizes.
When you're ready to wind down and grab some grub, head on over to Burger Town for hambugers and fries. Feel free to check out the Armory to see weapons and games from the Call of Duty series.
Call of Duty XP 2011 takes place September 2 and 3, allowing more than 6,000 visitors to attend. Tickets are worth $150 and all profits will be sent to The Call of Duty Endowment non-profit group.

Only thing I'm excited for is the campaign, though. BF3 will likely take up all of my time on the multiplayer spectrum. MW3 will probably be a rent for me, at least until I get bored of BF3 or in case BF3's multiplayer is complete crap.
Anyway, I'm not asking myself "which one will be better", because I haven't played either of them, you can't sit there and say which will be better. I ask myself, which am I more excited for, and which one looks better? And the answer to that is a resounding BF3. MW3 will likely be the same as MW2, but with a bit more of MW1 roots brought back into it. That seems great, I mean, Call of Duty and me have a love-hate relationship, but if anything can be said about CoD, it's that it delivers a very entertaining (albeit frustrating) experience. It's fun, but they have sort of cranked out the same game every year with different perks and killstreaks, with the exception of W@W. Coming from their own mouths they said that they aren't looking to change anything major, or bring anything really new to the table.
Well, I'm kind of sick of Call of Duty now, and if they don't bring anything new and exciting to the table, I'll just get bored of MW3 a month after I buy it, just like Black Ops.
