Been a while since we've heard any major developments in the West/Zampella lawsuit against Activision -- until now. Following a favorable ruling by an LA Superior Court judge, their case is finally headed to trial.
Former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vincent Zampella filed suit back in March 2010, after they were let go by publisher and IW owner Activision. The pair accused the company of multiple breaches of contract, missing royalties, and wrongful termination, later adding fraud to the long list of complaints.
Not that Activision has been taking all this quietly. Toward the end of 2010, the publisher came back with a lawsuit of its own, accusing competitor EA of working together with West and Zampella in their efforts to sabotage Infinity Ward while the two were still employed by Activision.
Currently, both cases are expected to go to trial later this year or in early 2012.
