Time to make a specialist task force devoted to catching cyber criminals and remove them from society permanently. (while harsh it might be needed)

Why not catch said hackers and offer them a job to stop other people from hacking stuff like this. They seem goon enough at it.

Like how Dethklok takes care of kids who pirate music. (Metalocalypse reference)

It's kinda funny that people think people who can run mass DDoS attacks are "hackers". They didn't write the code, all they had to do was get enough people spamming packets at servers to stall network traffic. If you're curious about how they did it, google low orbit ion cannon.

I'm not for hacking at all. But as long as they didn't steal anything, I don't think it's a big deal. The games get some downtime of course, but nothing super harmful. It might get kids to go outside for once. xD It's like honing your skills per se.
" Oh lets hack into Sony, and the first one to do so will get major bragging rights. "

Still sucks though.

Edit: I used Sony for no particular reason. It was just the first one to mind.

I'm not sure these hackers are looking to be recognized for their talents, or else they'd have been identified and caught already.

That reminds me of this book I read...

But yeah, they need to be caught. They're getting on my nerves, and they haven't effected me yet.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. DDoS is not related to "hacking" in the pop-culture sense of the word. That they DDoS'd a server just means they overloaded the servers with connection requests and therefore the server started to refuse new connections.

They didn't break into said websitess to steal information or anything. They didn't "hack" the games to cheat. They just overloaded their network traffic to prevent outside people from using their services.

Granted it's still a bad thing, but not as bad as you think they are.
