EA made it known at an investor call this morning it's planning on publishing three times the amount of DLC for Battlefield 3 than it did for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The latter title peaked at seven DLC packs, five of which were free.
The company's plan makes sense, given we're expecting Battlefield 3's lifespan to be at least three times that of Bad Company 2, in the same vein as Battlefield 2 and other titles in the series.
The first content pack is of course Back to Karkand, a downloadable expansion featuring maps, weapons and vehicles from Battlefield 2, remade in the Frostbite 2 engine. Karkand is free to all those who pre-order.
