I'm really glad they're releasing Professor Layton and The Last Specter before The Mask of Miracle for that's how the stories chronologically fall. Nintendo and Level-5 probably had a choice to omit The Last Specter and go straight to The Mask of Miracle to bolster the game library of the 3ds.

I found Nintendo's approach to revealing their new console to be incredibly confusing, I've spoken to quite a few others that also expressed the same concerns as I had. When they revealed the Wii U, all I saw was the controller, not the console itself and I'm still unsure whether their is a console or if its the controller?

There is a Console, but it is just like how Nintendo shows off every new console; Show the gimmick first, specs and system itself later.

With previous reveals: Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, 3DS we weren't left thinking "So..... the pad is the console?"

Understandable, but if people payed attention during the reveal for it, it said it streams gameplay from the console. Effectively, it does not need a TV. The Controller isn't really the "console", more of the "TV". The two presidents clearly said, the Screen is mainly for when you are kicked off your own television, you can still play the console.

Yea but they didn't clearly talk about the console.... at all. Plenty of people paid attention, but were still left confused by what was actually being revealed. In my opinion if something needs to be expressly explained time and time again (many articles are having to do this) that their is a console with the controller then something has gone seriously wrong in communicating their technology.

That was the worst Zelda footage I have ever seen. The graphics were absolutely terrible. You could clearly see the pixels in the game, especially on the rolling ball in the lava.

Pixelated edges are a common sight in many video games.

A ball is supposed to be round, not jagged.

I can assure you that even today's top of the line PC's aren't capable of rendering perfectly smooth objects in real time. Sure, they can make a ball LOOK smooth but that same ball is as jagged as a thousand-sided dice.

We're still years away from consoles and PCs being able to render perfectly smooth surfaces while not sacrificing performance. That pixelated ball is just one of the many elements looking as best as they can while keeping things as smooth as possible.

Also, it's running on a Wii. Can't expect mind-blowing visuals without doing some really fancy tricks.

It's running on a Wii U I thought? Y'no that brand new controller... oops uhh I mean that brand new console! But yea you do have a point, its quite difficult to get completely round objects, you'll get a million sided "sphere" at best.
