DeathSpank fans have something to look forward to this summer: another DeathSpank game. Hothead Games revealed the next installment with an amusing teaser, and though the video doesn't say much, they've already promised gameplay improvements as well, specifically in the realm of combat.
DeathSpank: The Baconing pits our hero against his most dangerous foe ever, the Anti-Spank, while he searches for the Fires of Bacon. Mm, mapley goodness. As always, you'll be getting that "Monkey Island meets Diablo" feel, and returning characters will be popping in alongside newcomers. Four all new bosses present new challenges, but don't worry, because DeathSpank and his new sidekick, Bob from Marketing, are true professionals. Bob boasts some... interesting skills, too. Apparently, the guy (Guy? Thing?) can shoot laser eye beams, eat corpses for health, and eat live bodies for an additional attack option.
In addition to the improved combat, which Hothead says will let players feel more in-control, The Baconing also comes with more than 100 new quests, a brand new tale, over 70 characters, more than 80 new weapons to play with, new areas to explore, and an overall tougher difficulty.
The Baconing is set for Summer 2011 release, via Xbox LIVE Arcade, PC, and PSN.
