Warhammer 40k: Space Marine pre-order bonuses, exclusive Collector's Edition revealed
Plus new trailer explores gory combat system
Few games offer as many options as THQ is with their Warhammer 40k: Space Marine pre-order incentives. The publisher today announced pre-order bonuses for no less than six specific retailers, plus an exclusive Collector's Edition through their own online store.
You can now pre-order the Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Collector's Edition through the THQ.com Store, where limited quantities are available. At $80 for PC and $100 for Xbox 360 and PS3, the Collector's bundle includes a copy of the game (obviously) and a variety of other goods packed into a fancy box:
- 10" replica Purity Seal
- Hardback artbook
- Space Marine soundtrack
- Premium pack of 25 foiled character information cards
Pre-order content varies, of course, though for once, you can argue GameStop isn't the default winner. Your options do include the usuals like GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon.com and so forth, which are offering in-game goods like armor and weapons. PC gamers are getting a bit more love, though:
- GameStop - Emperor's Elite Pack, which comes with armor skins for the Space Wolves and Black Templar chapters
- Best Buy - Traitor Legion Pack, the complete armor sets for the Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children
- Amazon.com - Golden Relic Chainsword
- Wal-mart - Golden Relic Bolter
- Steam - Dawn of War Blood Ravens chapter armor, with the distinctive red and bone color scheme, plus a free copy of Darksiders PC
- THQ.com - PowerSword weapon for multiplayer
If you pre-order through other participating digital distributors, you still receive a free copy of Darksiders for PC, just no in-game items. For those of you eager to learn more about the game, THQ also released a new developer diary today, in which the folks at Relic delve deeper into Space Marine's brutal combat system, detailing a few features like the violence-driven Fury system.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine will be out for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on September 6, 2011.
