Bohemia Interactive is now hard at work on its next game in the superb military sim series ArmA, titled simply ArmA III.
The game is PC exclusive as ever, and is said to improve upon its predecessors, house the most detailed environments yet, and pack "radical" improvements to the engine (including a revamped animation system). Feature highlights include PhysX vehicle simulation, soldier customization, and authentic geography modeled after real geographic data (it's set on a Mediterranean island), besides the expected "moddability" (gotta have the Battle Bus) and single player, multiplayer, and co-op modes. Excitingly, it appears DirectX 9 will no longer be supported, so you can expect a more advanced experienced from the ground up.

ArmA III will be shown at E3, so we may just get a hands-on look next month. It launches summer 2012.
