Namco Bandai Games' big reveals yesterday night confirmed an "early October" international release for Dark Souls, From Software's hotly anticipated spiritual sequel to Demon's Souls. The multiplatform title for PS3 and Xbox 360 will first launch in Japan this September as a PS3 exclusive for ¥7800 ($96 USD).
When Dark Souls finally hits our shores, you'll have the chance to grab it as a plain jane Standard or fully loaded Collector's Edition. Like the Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition before it, the Dark Souls CE will include all sorts of bonus goodies including an art book, soundtrack (acquired through digital download), special documentary videos and a mini strategy guidebook.
Here's where it gets really good: the Dark Souls CE will retail $59.99 USD, exactly the same pricing as the Standard edition release. Makes you wonder why Namco Bandai even bothered with a Standard edition package.
