Fable III marks Lionhead's "return" to the PC (and Microsoft's), but a new community Q&A reveals they never really left. Asked if the studio could still bring Fable II over to the platform (something many fans have been wondering since the announcement for III), lead gameplay designer Mike West says no, and explains it was down to time:
"Nope, sorry. Due to creating a brand new engine for the 360 on Fable 2, there was no code time to port over the engine back then. This time the code department could do the PC version justice and so Fable 3 on PC was made."
Also on the topic of PC, he mentions the reintroduction of (optional) subtargeting mouse controls in Fable III, so there's that to look forward to come May 17, plus other goodies.
