With all the complaints about the possibility of this being a console port and the shortness of the game, I still find this game proving that quality trumps quantity. I had more fun with the 6-7 hours or whatever it takes to complete the game than I've had with any game since.. Maybe Portal 1 or even the episodes of Half-Life 2. It is beautiful in it's own self and I was blown away after I had played it. Storyline is beautiful, and Portal 2 just made me want HL2: Episode 3 even more.

I'm surprised, I thought HL2 would've been #1 in sales back when it was released...

You have to keep in mind that these are numbers from the UK which is why games like Zumba Fitness and Lego Star Wars are on there.

The thing that scares me about this is that a lot of companies, once they earn a certain level of success, it becomes their new standard. Not in terms of quality, but in terms of earning potential. What scares me is that Valve may start to drop projects it would have previously gone through with because they don't have the potential to earn X millions of dollars. It's the same path Activision is/has been taking. I wouldn't want Valve to be corrupted by new standards and constantly regurgitate the same game over and over again with the same working formulas over and over again instead of trying new things as Valve is famous for and has earned them so much success.

Why does black ops get a top 10 spot, isn't it the same thing as, oh I don't know, every other online fps in the past? Or does it count the dlc numbers too?

Glad to hear it! It really bugged me that people complained about the play time being "Only 4 hours". The first portal was easy to beat in under an hour. So even if it does take you 4 hours to beat you're still getting 4 times the length.
