It seems strange yet appropriate that with today's new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim screenshots, we also learn the game won't be as visually mind-blowing as many PC gamers might have wanted.
Screenshots and trailers so far haven't exactly been disappointing, but game director Todd Howard has stated that Skyrim is "mostly a DirectX 9 game in terms of how the shaders work." Aside from a few visual upgrades, the PC version isn't going to look a whole lot different from its console counterparts.
That aside, today's screens cover a wide range of in-game content. We see more enemies, including giant spiders (no fantasy game is complete without these) and decaying undead, things we're used to seeing a whole lot of in Elder Scrolls. A Khajiit and Orc also make appearances in today's batch; just look at that fur.
Skyrim will be out for Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 on November 11.
