Nestled within Nintendo's official software lineup for the second quarter of 2011 is confirmation that Aksys Games will be releasing the 3DS port of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II in North America this May 24th. BlazBlue: CS II is latest entry in Arc System Works' fighting game series, and will also be made available as a downloadable update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases of BlazBlue: CS later this Spring.
BlazBlue: CS II covered its the handheld bases back in Japan with a PSP port that launched on the same day as the 3DS version, and the PSP release proved to be the more popular version during launch week there, actually placing in the top ten for Media Create's weekly software ranking chart.
Aksys hasn't yet made an official announcement for the North American release of BlazBlue: CS II, so we can only go by Nintendo's own official North American release date list for the time being. In other words, it's still too early to say whether or not Aksys intends on localizing the PSP version of BlazBlue: CS II as well.
BlazBlue: CS II on the 3DS makes use of the handheld's built-in stereoscopic 3D during actual gameplay. Developer Arc System Works also made it point to note that they won't be letting players "hotkey" attacks and special moves to the touchscreen, because they want you to do Inferno Dividers with the 3DS analog Circle Pad instead.
