Capcom was doing quite a bit of teasing last week with the mystery website, but let's be honest -- we all knew what they were going on about. Right, Dragon's Dogma, which Capcom trademarked a good while back. Well, pat yourselves on the backs, because the game has been confirmed with an official announcement.
Scheduled to be out in early 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3, Dragon's Dogma sends players into an open fantasy world with the sole intent of tracking down and killing a "mysterious dragon." Along the way, you'll run into other such mythical creatures, leading to some potentially epic battles. The game also adopts the same graphical style as Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2, utilizing an enhanced version of Capcom's MT Framework engine.
Development is being led by Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and Devil May Cry 3 and 4 director Hideaki Itsuno. If their involvement is any indication, the gameplay should be pretty damn solid.
