Minecraft leaves beta on November 11

Achievements, Statistics, and weather introduced in version 1.5
Look out, Skyrim! Mojang's sandbox building game Minecraft officially leaves its beta status on November 11.
The Minecraft you know today will pretty much be the same game when November 11 rolls around so consider the date as a milestone than anything else. Mojang is still committed to provide updates after the full version is released so continue your usual routine of making structures and avoiding Creepers.
The upcoming version 1.5 update introduces Achievements, Statistics, and weather effects to various regions. You may run into snow and rain when exploring but be extra cautious of lightning bolts when going through severe storms.

Also, who made the castle in the screenshot? *droll*
I don't know why, but whenever a game leaves the development stage, I kinda get a bit teary inside.
I've never made something that big.
I'm looking forward to the weather, because I heard that it would add more snow to the ground, and my snow area could use some more snow. I had to dig the snow up to do some stuff, and now it's not coming back.
I just hope though that it doesn't make me lag even more. They seriously need to do some optimization. This game has some of the most simple graphics out there, and it lags like hell for me.
