That's pretty cool, I might opt into that once it's been in beta for a bit.

Well I never use any other computers for Steam, but this might be a good thing to opt into anyway.

Though i've never NOT opted into a Beta so I would of gotten this anyway eventually.

Which is rather silly considering if you manage to log into somebody's facebook, you already know their email, and most people tend to use the same password globally.

Steam doesn't have THAT quality service. Their customer service is absolutely horrid, and their updates to the client are extremely messy.

i bought APB on steam and when the game got shut down i had steam Customer Support email EA support my proof of purchase so i could trade APB for DA ultimate edition.
Steam support is more than helpful but you have to keep in mind that the number of users on steam far outnumbers the staff at valve and the mound of silly complaints that have to be at least looked at is ridiculous.

Well I know that, but still. I had a glitch with my Steam client, and I contacted steam. I got no response from them, and by the time I did, it was well past the time when I found out how to fix it myself.

Suppose you hate Microsoft, EA and any other major corporation that dominates the industry they are within because they are good at their job...jesus christ, at least come up with a decent excuse for hating a company...like hating Activision because they suck souls and probably other things for a living

As to Steam Guard...nice to see something like this happen, personally isn't needed for myself but there are many people out there that get suckered by scammers

While I also don't like steam because to me the whole thing is very temperamental and I personally do not like dealing with massive amounts of DRM, but I do use steam out of necessity just because of the prices.

On a different but story related not I thought you guys would be interested to know that Valve is so sure and convinced that the knew steam guard technology is bullet proof the Gabe Newell (CEO of Valve) gave out his steam e-mail and password the other day.

The DRM is the fault of the companies putting their games on Steam, not Valve. You'll get the DRM even if you buy the game via discs instead of Steam.

Turtle Commando, you just gave back-up to his post.

It'll take time for Valve to get to a customer support ticket, they have thousands upon thousands of them for a staff numbering two digits, if that. If you found the solution online before getting one from them, you may want to consider looking to Google first next time. Customer Support is really only worth it with big companies if you have a problem the internet cannot solve, something that requires direct action from the company itself.
