Ubisoft blocks 'We Dare' ad in the States, no US release
We're just not as sexy as European gamers
If you tried checking the now-infamous We Dare ad on YouTube today and happen to live in the US, prepare for some disappointment. Ubisoft has blocked the controversial advertisement/trailer for viewing in the United States -- along with several other regions. As of now, Europe appears to be the only continent with access to the trailer via official channels.
For anyone out of the loop, the We Dare trailers (Yes, a whole series of them.) turned quite a few heads when they were discovered last week by the gaming community. Ubisoft advertised this Wii/PS3 motion-based party game as "sexy" and "quirky," and attempted to convey as much through their awkward advertisement, which depicted two couples doing suggestive activities with the Wii Remote. What sort of suggestive activities, you ask? You know, the usual; shoving the Wii-mote down someone's pants and spanking it, or dangling it between two people so they can assault the device with their mouths.
Looks like Ubisoft wasn't liking the attention their questionable ad campaign was getting. Either way, the US won't be seeing the game released within its shores. Ever. Lucky Europeans.

The game, though targeted towards the more mature of gamers, has no real reason on why it is banned anywhere a person could just have harmless fun somewhere. The actions depicted, may seem crude at first shouldn't bother anyone who is in no way going to whitness it or plan on doing so. It's just another party based game, just with an age restriction attached to it.
I watched the ads from New Zealand after the news came out, so that's one place the banhammer hasn't fallen yet outside or Europe.
