It's been a long time coming, but Microsoft have finally put a date on Fable III for PC: May 17.
Part of the reason for the wait has been optimization -- as many know, delivering a proper PC version of a game requires care and extra love, as evidenced by Fable: The Lost Chapters.
In this case, PC players can look forward to NVIDIA 3D Vision support, as well as an exclusive hardcore mode which makes the game more difficult.
Most know the Fable series has always been on the easy side, something which seemed to become arguably worse with each release. As PC gamers tend to prefer a challenge (or a greater one, at least), it's great to see Lionhead accommodating the audience. Staff writer and Fable junkie Lydia Sung notes simply upping the difficulty would be unfitting, so presumably they'll be tweaking the gameplay and mechanics as well.
Some new screens from the PC versions can be found below -- not the sharpest we've seen, but the gameplay should make up for it. Update: technical difficulties have prevented us from posting the screens, excepting the one above.
