Bulletstorm's Call of Duty parody 'Duty Calls' surpasses 1M downloads

Celebratory wallpapers are bloody

EA, Epic, and People Can Fly released their Call of Duty parody Duty Calls just two days ago, and the free-to-play shooter has already surpassed one million downloads, currently sitting at a total of 1.25 mil. We can tell you the experience is quite enjoyable, thought tragically brief.

To celebrate the milestone, Duty Calls wallpapers have been released via the official Bulletstorm Twitter page. We've got two varieties here, in the gallery below. The first is the 'Bloody Screen,' declaring in parentheses, "SO REAL!" If you'd prefer a more understated desktop background, there's the 'Rank-Up' wallpaper that declares your impressive rank of "Sergeant of Master Sergeants Most Important Person of Extreme Sergeants to the Max."

If you haven't already checked out Duty Calls, we suggest you rectify that immediately by downloading the game. Now! As for Bulletstorm, you'll need to wait until February 22.

I still find it funny that they use the red screen as a mocking point, yet in bullet storm your screen goes red when injured, just like 99% of the other games out there.

yh but you dont really get blood on your face when your shot in the leg, i think thats there point, that said since health bars are dead in gaming now (sad times) not really been any other good idea's for damage indicators

depends, if the bullet is big enough i can almost garantee blood in the face upon a hit in the leg.

Not entirely dead.. Resistance 3 has reinstated the health bar and also dropped regenerating health for the third and final game in the franchise. The screen also doesn't go red either.. It seems that while health bars are dying there will be at least one game this years sticking to old school shooter ideals (health packs also return).

Good news there then, i know killzone has a good balance of healthbar and regenerating (in the multiplayer anyway), but the third game dont seem to have healthpacks.
