O mystery of mysteries, SEGA has announced yet another IP we can all look forward to. Unlike Binary Domain, however, this one actually has a release window and some solid details.
Anarchy Reigns, as the IP is called, is an upcoming brawler born from the minds at Platinum Games; producer Atsushi Inaba (Vanquish, MadWorld, Okami) and game director Masaki Yamanaka (MadWorld, God Hand) are leading development. Okay, so we don't actually have too much to tell you about the game, but SEGA and Platinum are really pushing for multiplayer.
In the initial announcement, SEGA spoke of "a diverse range of multiplayer modes to provide players with different challenges, including Tag Team battles and Battle Royal, where players can challenge others in a full-on fight for victory." Well that sounds relatively promising -- after all, what kind of multiplayer doesn't let you challenge other players?
Anarchy Reigns is currently scheduled for an autumn release later this year, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Other than that, three new screenshots await your scrutiny. One (above) reminds us of MadWorld in color, and the other two feature a woman who looks like a palette swap of Bayonetta (below).
