The PC versions of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and Oddworld: Munchy's Oddysee were marred by a poor launch, but as we said there would be, improvements and fixes are here.
The update for Stranger fixes major issues regarding performance, save games, controls, and audio, among other smaller fixes. Besides that, developer Just Add Water (JAW) has added a nice variety of new features as requested by the community, including resolution options (and proper widescreen support, not that fake stuff), customizable controls, more joypad support, and other items. For the full list, hit the source.
We're told by users performance is now butter smooth and all major issues appear to be ironed out.
Note if you'd like to change the controls, you must navigate to the config.txt file located in Documents\Oddworld\Stranger's Wrath and edit as appropriate.
The Munch update, meanwhile, fixes crashing, sound issues, and achievements. JAW says they'll be releasing another update for it in a couple of weeks containing a "load of fixes and additions."
Finally, note the games will be launching on Impulse, Amazon and GamersGate soon, if you prefer those shops to Steam.
Now that things are in order, you can expect our Stranger review next week, and Munch review in two or three weeks.
