Details about Konami's latest Silent Hill endeavor have been floating in, and yesterday, we learned the eighth game's somewhat unscary official name, SIlent Hill: Downpour, and a few gameplay tidbits. Today, we've got a bit more confirmation regarding the game's use of wonky camera angles and the inclusion of side quests, by way of developer Vantra Games.
Right, we said side quests. This probably ties into the psychological profiling mechanic, which changes the story based on decisions made by the player, ranging from narrative choices to the clothes on Murphy's back. For now, Vatra isn't saying much more than that about these side adventures.
Design director Brian Gomez also mentioned Downpour's new hybrid camera, a combination of Homecoming's updated camera work with the classic fixed angles seen in the early Silent Hill games. Rest assured, survival horror fans -- it will not be fully adjustable this time.
