About a year ago, we reviewed a little RPG by the name of Torchlight on PC, giving it a rather favorable reception. At long last, developer Runic Games has made the journey to Microsoft's Xbox division -- they'll be releasing it on LIVE Arcade this spring.
Especially judging from the screens here, Runic seems to have done a great job porting this over, completely overhauling the UI and controls (some of the team even finds skill switching easier with the new controls), adding force feedback, and tweaking combat (comparisons are made to the excellent Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance). Ranged fights they say are actually more efficient in this version, also.
Virtually nothing has been removed, and some items from Torchlight 2 have been added, like improved load times, better animation for 'snappier' combat, automaps, three new armor sets, new random quests, and a new pet. Yeah, we're jealous already.
No word on a PS3 release, unfortunately -- Runic says there are no plans as of yet.
