Nintendo is still basking in the warm glow of successful sales performance during Black Friday shopping week in the U.S. last month. Citing data from sales tracker NPD Group, Nintendo boasts that their console hardware unit sales for the month of November ultimately hit around 2.7 million; Black Friday sales alone accounted for 1.5 million consoles.
According to the teardown, Nintendo pushed a total of 1.5 million DS handhelds and 1.2 million Wii consoles last month in total. Around half to the total Wii sales for November occured during Black Friday shopping week. Nintendo attributed this to attractive, limited edition Wii hardware bundles commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
