Want to hear more about Dead Space 2? Well, that's good, because art director Ian Milham has a lot to say. EA released three new trailers, crammed full of gameplay footage overlaid with Milham's bountiful wisdom.
First is the "Evolution of Isaac" video, in which we see more of Isaac in Dead Space 2. He's changed a great deal since the first game, altered by his traumatic experiences, but he's returned as a more proactive character. Milham admits that some Dead Space fans won't immediately warm up to the more defined Isaac, but he remains confident in Visceral's reimagining of the formerly silent hero.
Next up is the topic of horror in gaming. As a video game genre, horror has changed a great deal in just a few years, for better or worse. Dead Space 2 retains the suspense and overall mood of a horror game, but Visceral is keeping things fresh with an action-y edge. Special events break up the pace, keeping players on their toes.
You're still wondering about the multiplayer, aren't you? Milham talks about that too.
"How often do you get to play a demon baby crawling on the walls and dismember your friends?"
Not very often, though that might change when Dead Space 2 hits.
