If you were to make games that did recreate wartime experiences it would be banned from Australia again, and where ever else for that matter.

That's a retarded sentiment.

I 100% agree with Ron Parkes. Something that makes light and fantasy out of true events is sadistic and disgusting. I hope to god for our future that the little kids who play these stupid games aren't basing their version of history off of it.

And I can't wait for them all to die for my cause when I'm old and they're still capable of fighting a world war. I'd love to see the colour of their stool after a bullet goes through their intestines and doesn't magically heal after 20 seconds.

To even think that a game could ever replicate or simulate realtime warfare is ludicrous. NO game will ever be able to replicate the true feeling of war no matter how realistic it gets. To even mention another game that makes it realistic is incredibly stupid.

War is one of those things you really won't know until you experience it first hand. Honestly, who is going to take you seriously when you claim you know what it's like to be in war because you watched some movie, played war games, or read a book about it?

A war vet would take offense to that, and they have every reason to.

Every War is ugly and miserable... it'd be better U.S. avoided Vietnam War which was clearly a defeat for U.S. military and the war was a major foreign policy failure of the 20th century...

Most importantly, Who cares whether it's a marketing or not....U.S.Soldiers need to realize that they were, are, and will also be 'victims' of foreign policy failures which are typically orchestrated by politicians!!!!!!....

The old man in the picture above needs to realize that...In some cases in war, if need be, soldiers must confront back politicians in home country to avoid further miseries.

Obeying orders without logic does not mean 'pure courage' or 'honour'....

Real courage lies in what you truly believe in and what you truly stand for truth with compassion and logic...Not just hatred against 'Communism' old folks....

P.S. I'm not communist but the fall of Saigon was a pure victory for Vietcong!!! Shame for U.S. military and soldiers... Also Remember 'My Lai' Massacre and Abu Gribb in Iraq!!!!!! Shame on U.S. military!!!!!!!!!!!....

Not really. Homefront depicts the effects of war in a way a lot of younger Americans can relate to better than WWI-WWII, which, to people is Call of Duty or Medal of Honor or just History they know nothing about. To say that media can never recreate wartime experiences is bull; watch a few videos on Live Leak for example. What games cannot create is the emotions and memories felt from experiencing a war. People should still get the idea behind war, that it impacts everyone and overall it's not good.

Your last paragraph is a pretty f'ed up sentiment. Seek help.

I have no idea what you're talking about in your first paragraph. To interject something though, the Treyarch team does take input from actual soldiers.

I simply reinforced the point that wartime experiences cannot be recreated in media. You will never really know the consequences of war or what it means to be a soldier (or marine) until you have experienced these things first hand.

Watch all the war movies and play all the shooters you want, that fact still stands. That's why I said that no one will take you seriously when you say you know what war is when that knowledge is only based on OTHER people's experiences, NOT your own.

I understand his concern. But I don't think it was done on purpose, and I think people are overreacting. Most likely the game was brought up on this date because it would be right on time for holiday season. Their team of guys who decide release dates and stuff probably realized that Remembrance Day was near this date, but probably didn't think it'd be a problem.
