What ticks me off is they say that they're increasing the price so they can get us more exclusive things and offer us free services like ESPN but no, that's *not* free if you're just going to increase the price.

Also, I don't want ESPN or any of the other garbage. All I want to do is play my games online. What they should have done is model their structure after cable companies. If you want ESPN, Twitter, Facebook whatever then you have to subscribe to a package that's added on to your Gold subscription.

It's even worse for people that are in places such as Australia where they don't even get ESPN and yet they're also paying an increase in their subscription. It's absolutely ridiculous, especially when we already have ads on the dashboard, which, to my knowledge was supposed to help offset some of these things and now we get an increase. Oh right, I forgot, this is Microsoft we're talking about.

This was the first time I purchased a yearly subscription but back in Oct I ended up paying $67.19 CAD for a 1 year renewal sooo, I'm not sure what he's talking about US only? unless that's "normal".

Complete BS for the hike. I probably wont even consider playing my xbox until gears 3. Lastly you made a good point, give me a cheaper price point without the extra bull garbage. This is an entertainment system disguised as a gaming console. I dont like it, I didn't ask for it and Im disgusted at the fees associated with it.

Ps3>360. Yes I own both, and that's why I pre-ordered black ops for PS3.

I'd have done it for PC but my friends all play PS3, and what fun is cod without friends? (Ok, still fun, but not AS fun).

I agree I do not want this nor do I want to pay for this. I think you should have the option to upgrade with ESPN but we should be able to use the existing live. I think xbox just lost a subscription, think i might go blow the dust off my PS3

Microsoft, none of this shit is free if we have to pay extra for it.

Honestly you've done enough don't you dare try to justify yourselves, doing so only insults us more. Why don't you go increase the price more? Exactly what service are we getting that warrants such a thing? Xbox is a *bleep*ing game console first as such it should be treated as one so why don't you just shut up.

You raised the price because you know that it won't hurt live in the slightest and all you want is money, money, money, service be damned.

Also I love how I can't access the marketplace or ANY of xbox live features except for paying for online. If your gonna release something at least have the decency to be prepared for such a release that way customer satisfaction is high.

What a load of hock and I would not be surprised if Australia ends up paying extra. Sure if we actually gained access to XBLI and other stuff that almost every other country has then fine I will pay an extra couple of dollars but what the are using for an excuse here is unjustifiable!
As for the new dashboard, screw you pricks I go blind every time I send a friend request. The Commodore 64 had better menu screens than this. At least the developers for the games back then had the common sense not to use flat white.

Microsoft is the 3rd richest corporation in the US but yet they're the only corporation charging for playing online and other shit features I won't use. *bleep* you Microsoft for raising the price when there shouldn't be a price in the first place. All I want is to play online with my friends and that's it. With all the success Microsoft should be lowering the price if anything

I honestly wouldn't mind paying a little extra.... IF they stopped all this casual family gaming pushing they are doing, oh and IF they had NFL on the ESPN shit... No only college. Oh, and just so you know Microsoft, I have been using a game controller and console since I was *bleep*ing 5, that shit with the woman after the update telling me which buttons did what and where they were... just screw you, don't talk down to me as if I ride the short bus..... I drive that mother.

So shouldn't this mean that those who don't have an internet service provider that is in partnership with ESPN shouldn't have to pay that price hike? It seems as though you should just add the ESPN on as a Netflix sort of service.

And this is why I'm a PC Gamer; no extra fees I'm required to pay to use my connection, just internet and electric bills. Oh noes.

I think they really should have a noticeably cheaper service that is just Online gaming (and weekly deals, preferably). Like Silver, Gold, Platinum. I have no use for most of the extra features on Gold (I don't even have netflix in any form FFS, and I have a PS3 and PC in any case).

So maybe something like $40USD a year for Standard service, and what they have now for the 'Platinum' Service. I'd say Free Online, but that's just not going to happen, is it?
