From Software, the folks behind the Armored Core, King's Field and Demon's Souls gaming franchises, kicks off its Tokyo Game Show presence with a potentially exciting new announcement for Demon's Souls fans in particular. During Sony's TGS conference, the developer reveals a new "dark fantasy" action RPG currently codenamed "Project Dark" and is reportedly designed to cater to the twisted fans of Demon's Souls.
The teaser site certainly evokes the opening sequences of the celebrated 2009 PS3 title, which proved to be such a hit that North American publisher Atlus was compelled to push additional print runs for the regular edition shortly after launch, something they rarely ever do! Demon's Souls is also now officially a Greatest Hits title to boot, something that really ought to warm Atlus' heart.
However it appears that publisher Namco Bandai will be tied to this new Project Dark, which is in development for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. That's great news for Xbox 360 fans who felt left out of the Demon's Souls fun, but further details will have to wait until early 2011 when more information will be promised. It may not necessarily end up to be a direct Demon's Souls sequel.
