While we love Stardock's strategy RPG Elemental: War of Magic, one of the niggling issues has been suboptimal performance -- namely, lower than normal frames per second.
That gets fixed today with the release of the 1.07 patch, just in time for the weekend, along with other performance-related issues and some gameplay love. Both high and low end users are taken care of. Also, if you're in the latter camp, you can switch off some added settings to up performance further if you can't afford the treats.
We can personally confirm a major boost to framerates: where we'd once see ~20 FPS just hovering over a city or unit, we now see a minimum of 30, and in some cases the new maximum ~60. Overall it feels quite a bit smoother, with little or no stuttering.
The release notes are too long to post here, so head to the source if you're curious. As always, grab the update through Impulse.
