DeathSpank came out mid-July this year, but Hothead and EA have already revealed a sequel, DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue. Thing is, the sequel is set for release next month.
PSN will be seeing Thongs of Virtue on September 21, while XBLA is getting the game the day after, on September 22. The game will be priced at $15, or 1200 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 owners. Despite the curious timing, Hothead game director Vlad Ceraldi is promising one helluva game, bigger and better than the first DeathSpank.
“Bigger, longer, harder--these were the words that drove us while we created the follow up to our introduction to the DeathSpank universe. In T.O.V., we’re taking action RPG fundamentals and adding loads of new creatures, environments, weapons and characters, while continuing to push the envelope with our signature humor."
Players will once again take the role of DeathSpank, the 'Dispenser of Justice,' 'Vanquisher of Evil,' yadda yadda. Our hero has been tasked with destroying six thongs and destroying them before the magical items corrupt anymore victims.
DeathSpank's partner has been replaced by a Kung-Fu fighter with ninja moves named... Steve.
