Sir-Tech's lauded tactical mercenary game Jagged Alliance 2 is receiving an overhaul in the form of Jagged Alliance 2: Reloaded. This is hot on the heels of yesterday's news where bitComposer announced a browser MMO entry in the series -- looks like part two of a two part plan to secure enough income to fund Jagged Alliance 3, and a smart one at that.
They describe the game as "totally revamped", pointing to a "new look" and mending the "weak points of the original." If you've never gotten into the series, this will almost surely be your best chance, as they're overhauling the user interface and also providing an extensive tutorial to ease newbies into the "complex game rules system." Having tried the original ourselves and given up for this reason, it's certainly welcome.
Below are some screenshots comparing the old and new versions -- we have to say the new looks fabulous, sticking to its roots but updated just enough to feel "pleasant" alongside today's games.
Jagged Alliance 2 - Reloaded will be released next year.
