98% of that is tripe. The only two I care about on that list is Devo and Skynyrd. Even then, it's not like I'd be constantly playing either of the two.

skydog, people have their own opinions and preferences. Stop judging us.

tekmosis, you're a moron man. You think 98% of that list is tripe. You only care about Devo and Skynyrd. Need I say more?

It's amusing how only the anonymous are posting their bigotry comments. I think the only moron here are the two anon criticizing others taste in music.

Well, you do have an odd selection. I mean, you just put Devo over Queens of the Stone Age and Beach Boys. Whip It is an amusing song but No One Knows is great.

Does anyone else see this as being a great marketing idea?

I'm just glad that it will have at least a few great metal songs(Crazy train, rainbow in the dark, and caught in a mosh) and one of deep purple's best songs ever.

Great setlist, but I've already played about 80% of the songs on Guitar Hero. Taking a page out of World Tour's book then?

As someone who hasn't owned Rock Band 2 until a few weeks ago or played any Guitar Hero game since the first one, I see a bit of these as redemption from the first Guitar Hero game. Those who stuck it out with Harmonix will now get the non-cover versions of a few songs from the first and second GH and maybe some slightly tweaked notecharts.

My thoughts on the matter, anyway.

I can see several songs from after GH2 (mostly from WT, 5 & BH). I guess it's their own take on those later games, combining all the best songs from them.

Reenee, what I meant by taking a page from WT's book was that World Tour had notably copied several songs from Rock Band 2 (i.e Go Your Own Way, American Woman, Float On and several other songs can be found on both games) and so Rock Band 3 was doing the same as World Tour by getting many songs from GH6 (GH6 announced their songs earlier; therefore RB3 copied ) and earlier GH games.

I'm personally surprised at their selections. I never thought I'd be seeing 'Imagine', 'Space Oddity' or 'Everybody Wants to rule the world' on either Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Makes the choice on which one to get even harder.

Yeah but people rip into Neversoft for some of their ridiculous notechart placement.

Compare Rock Band 2's "Bad Reputation": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9rC0RJ12vY&feature=related

...with Band Hero's interpretation of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch4kZxprMkw

Look at the parts where the guitar solo is played. Band Hero adds artificial difficulty with extra notes for no reason. Where there's only one note being played, BH splits that single note into two and sometimes even takes them out.
