Give 'em what they want, Blizzard!
StarCraft II would be perfect for fans if it wasn't missing one feature that's still used in other PC games today: LAN play. Even though the initial announcement about the lack of local play was made back in mid-2009, the effort continues to request the feature patched in.
Blizzard removed LAN play over piracy concerns but the players weren't going to have any of that. The same petition that was started following the announcement has now reached 250,000 signatures and it remains steady on its reasons that LAN should be implemented such as offering players a choice and there being no real disadvantages to having the feature present.
Will Blizzard comply? There may be a renewed interest to push the issue with the recent release of the game but it's all on Blizzard in the end. Even if they don't step up to it, a group in the community just might develop their own unofficial solution. Hit up the source link to make yourself heard and hope for the best.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on this one.
If Blizzard doesn't implement this, and someone else will, it's just another example of why piracy is just superior to actually buying the game, in my humble opinion. Isn't that exactly what they want to avoid?
And one of my friends was mad that the game did not come with LAN or something. We have the original Starcraft and I'm pretty sure we played LAN together at least twice.
