Next summer will be the season of Green Lantern, as DC's comic book superhero becomes the latest to hit the big screens. You can be sure DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. will want to have a licensed video game ready in time for the motion picture release, and today at the San Diego Comic Con both confirm Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters for pretty much all console and handheld platforms except the PSP.
Rise of the Manhunters looks to complement and expand on the events of the motion picture, starring Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern Corps recruit Hal Jordan himself. The games (available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DS) naturally allow players to wield the always-stupendous Green Lantern power ring to form "over a dozen constructs and take flight across the deepest parts of the Universe to restore intergalactic order".
Silent Hill: Homecoming and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra developer Double Helix has been tapped to produce the console releases, while Griptonite Games (Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Where the Wild Things Are) will work on the DS version.
